Haunting Part Deux

Bruce was able to kill off Connor quite nicely this morning. If there was only a zombie lacrosse team we could find...

Happy Haunting and a Boo to You!

Our ward did a great Activity Days recognition night. Mr. Pumpkin was honored to be recognized. He's almost done with his Faith in God book.

We did a trial run of the costume last night. She ran around the house saying "Buzz, buzz, buzz..." Paige is going to be a bee and I think Berkley was having a bug identity problem.

Watch for more pictures of the other kids. I will post as I get them. Connor should be next. A dead Lacrosse player. It depends on how long it takes Bruce to get him dead.

And to all those who remember the treat the Mackay house gave out last year.....lower your expectations.

I Pledge Allegiance.....

Good thing: I only had to stand in line for 1 hour.

Bad thing: I had to listen to the lady behind me in line babble non-stop. I'm sure she's a kind soul, beloved by many....just not me.

Ammendment to the previous post

If you click on the picture to view it in a larger form and look closly at the bottom corner of Paige's mirror you will find a note. I think we may be in-laws with the Sheffields in a few years.

2 year old going on 20

Bruce heard Berkley get up this morning but thought she went downstairs to sit with Kennedy. Little did he know she was getting ready for the day, complete with bandana, courtesy of Paige's make-up.

Obviously I'm giving in with the last child. Make-up at age 2, dating will be next Summer, and she'll move out on her own just before Kindergarten.

p.s. Do you see all the glitter? Ugh! I see carpet cleaning in my future.

Miracles Do Happen

Miracle #1:
My former spouse let the girls come to Church today (on his weekend) for the Primary Program.
#2. I remembered that I had promised my SS class I would bring treats. I think I made Chex Muddy Buddies in about 5 minutes flat, picked up the girls for Church and I wasn't even late!

#3. I was able to take the girls back to their dad's, make 2 pies (banana cream and coconut cream) with homemade crusts **tangent** For all you out there who buy pre-made crusts at the grocery store I promise you it's easier, cheaper and less time to make your own. By the time you drove to the store you could have the dough made, rolled and in the oven before your return. If you want to learn we'll have a little pie making lesson one evening **end tangent** wash a mountain of dishes, drink a Diet Coke, AND eat some lunch all before 2:08pm. As a reference point I will tell you I didn't get back from taking the girls to their dads until 1pm. You do the miracle math. Credit should be given to Bruce for heating up my lunch and he did stir the cream filling for about 4.5 minutes which I totally appreciate.

We have to leave for family dinner by 4:45pm so I needed to be sure the pies had time to chill in the fridge and I really didn't think it would be done in time. There is nothing worse than serving banana cream soup, or coconut cream ooze.

Granted, it may not seem like much to you but I was stressing out and feeling like I wasn't going to be able to accomplish all that I wanted today. I feel as though I've used up a lot of favors, miracles, divine intervention, good luck, and anything else along those lines. So as a warning (and an apology) if you planning on having any special needs this week kiss them goodbye. Plan on hitting every red light, being on every solicitor's list, running out of gas, getting audited, and receiving a call from the bishop this week......me included.

Happiest Place on Earth

Where is the happiest place on earth? Well everyone has a different 'happy place' and there might possibly be multiple happy places. We have been to the big D. Why is it my happy place? Not because of Mickey, Nemo, Splash Mountain or the Matterhorn. It's because 90% of the food there is fried....deep fried...Mmmmmmm...... Churros, corn dogs, Monte Cristo (or should it be Crisco?) sandwich, fries, and I think even the cotton candy may be deep fried. I love it all but only for about a day and a half. If I see a deep fryer or smell fried anything I may spontaneously burst an artery. I'm not sure if my life insurance covers death by way of hot liquid fat.

Minor bumps in the road- forgot the memory card for the camera, stroller rental was a big disappointment (storage was about 16 square inches), pants don't fit anymore.

Highlights - concierge lounge cookies & all the Diet Coke I could partake of, watching the kids have fun, eating my weight in fried foods, buying new pants.

More to come....stay tuned.

4 and 4 = 8

Rachel tagged me to post my 4th picture in my 4th folder. I was hesitant because of course it's Berkley. I do have other children that I love dearly and take many pictures of, but it seems that Berkley always seems to take center stage...which the other 3 don't seem to mind and they are easily bought off with ice cream or electronics. So here is my picture - Berkley's aunt Char took her to get these done when she was about 6 months? Sad that I can't remember. She's not a baby any more. **sniff**sniff**

Lolly Lolly Lolly

I needed something to get me through the day. Nostalgic things really seem to make my insides smile. To be perfectly honest I couldn't think of anything to blog about nor did I want to expend time or energy on it. The grammar quiz will be on Monday.

And the Winner is.....

Well, Jen got them all correct (hugs for you!...Berkley ate all my gum last night out of my purse and the $10,000 was lost in the stock market yesterday). But I would give everyone a hug just for trying - which isn't really fair to Jen since she got them all correct. Jen - I'll add a high five too.

Answers are as follows:
1)The Vanishing
2)Notting Hill
3)Never Been Kissed
4)Gladiator
5)Speedracer
6)Chocolat

Totally TiVo Trivia

If you have cable you know that if you hit the 'Info' button ~or similar~ you get a brief description of the program you are pondering. In today's blog I will test your movie knowledge. I've looked up the description of a variety of movies. What is your movie grade? Anyone who gets all 10 right will win a prize (stick of gum, $10,000, or a hug...I haven't decided which one yet). Good luck..........................(p.s. you don't have to have cable to guess, just a good cranial movie data base).

In Case You Were Wondering....

...it really hurts when you staple your finger (on accident or on purpose).
...when I told Berkley it was time for bed last night she went and curled up in the dog bed.
...Survivor and The Office were NOT on last night(Grrrr.....).
...I'm not wearing nylons today thus blatantly disobeying the building dress code.
...Bruce & I will be celebrating our 6th anniversary in November.
...When I drink soda from a 20 oz bottle I can get my belch on...I even scare myself sometimes.
...I don't want to work today. For future reference that's how I will feel on any given day.
...Thank you Ashlee....after telling me about Becky's pet spider outside her door I dreamt about gargantuan spiders all night long.
...I shaved my legs today in preparation of my blatant dress code violation.
...It's garbage and recycle day. Mary, Rachel, Kim....do you need to run and make sure the garbage is out? Will you make sure mine is out?
...Bruce thought today was Saturday so I'm sure he wants to work even less than I do.
...when one DOES staple (on accident or purpose) one's finger a new swear word is born.
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

October is here!

I love the Fall. Love it, love it, love it! Decorating for Halloween is a favorite activity. Sad thing is I have minimal decorations but I do love the pumpkin flare. If you are wondering what to do besides the simple eyes, nose, & mouth pumpkins here are some ideas. I got these ideas from Family Circle and Martha Stewart if you want to go to their website for more info.

Eco Friendly Recyling Version
Oooohhh....fancy!
It takes a steady hand.
If you can't see, there are spider webs delicatly carved.
Fun but simple.

Super cute and different.
Super duper cute and super duper different.
Contemporary.
Simply darling.
Clever with a hint of pipe cleaner.

These are 'home grown' ideas and figured Martha needs some competition.

"Ouch"
"Hello....information? Can I get the number of a good exterminator?"
Candy corn fun.
Good use for items in your dress up box and no carving involved!
Lastly, a good way to get your neighbors to call the cops on you.
